About Me

Welcome to my Blog. I wanted to start a blog to share my experiences in the retail industry as many people  have experienced similar issues of burnout, stress, insensitive managers, immature colleagues…the list goes on. I wanted to document my journey from leaving behind a “drudgery” job to finding something that gives me meaning, purpose, and happiness.

I am from a small town in Northwestern Ontario.  .  I have my own neurosis called anxiety and am learning to embrace my highly sensitive nature.  Anxiety makes life challenging but it also keeps me on my toes.  I  have an amazing therapist who has been my life preserver since I moved to this crazy city called Toronto.

I lost my father to cancer and my mother recently to what we believe was a heart attack.  Grief will be a topic that will show up in my blog.  If it didn’t, I would be really surprised.

I also work as an on-call chaplain at a local hospital. I probably could be called the most secular of everyone who works in my field. I am Catholic, but I don’t prescribe to all the ideals of Catholicism. That’s a whole other conversation.

I am happily married to my best friend.  We both love dogs and all things dog.  We do not own a dog(s), yet.

Thank you for sharing this crazy journey called life with me.

Hello! Thank you for following my blog. It’s nice to meet you, and to follow your journey. I hope you don’t mind that I’m sipping on coffee while writing this! 🙂 I also have anxiety and have lost both of my parents at a young age. We have some things in common–not the most wonderful of things to have in common, but I’m sure we’ll have wisdom to share. Have a lovely day!

Hi, Sorry I didn’t get this until now. It is nice to meet you too. Of course I don’t mind you sipping on coffee. I love the stuff but it’s not good for my anxiety! I am sorry to hear you lost your parents at a young age. I am struggling right now with the holidays coming up and missing my mom..well my whole family. Are you in Canada or in the US? It’s not the best things to have in common, but I guess we must have something to share to others who might be going through similar things. Hope to hear from you soon. Daina
